Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17-09-2026 — this is a draft pending legal review.
The short version
PDFTurner offers six tools — Merge, Split, Extract Pages, Organize, PDF to Image, and Flatten — that run entirely in your browser. When you use them, your files are never uploaded to our servers. We have no way to see, store, or access documents processed this way, because they never leave your device.
This policy explains that in more detail, and covers what happens with features that do involve a server, now or in the future.
The browser-based tools
Merge, Split, Extract Pages, Organize, PDF to Image, and Flatten process your PDF using code that runs in your own browser. When you choose a file, it is read into your browser’s memory and never transmitted anywhere. We do not receive a copy, we do not log its contents, and we cannot recover it after you close the tab.
Tools that use server processing
Some features (for example, OCR, compression, or format conversion) may require processing on our servers because they need more computing power than a browser can provide. When you use one of these features:
- Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection.
- It is processed to perform the specific operation you requested.
- It is deleted from our servers automatically after processing completes, or after [RETENTION PERIOD] if you do not return to download the result.
- We do not use the content of your files to train any model, and we do not review file contents except as needed to diagnose a fault you report to us.
We cannot claim these files are never seen by anyone — a person with server access could technically view file contents during processing. We can promise we do not log, retain, or use them beyond what is described here.
Information we do collect
At the time of writing, PDFTurner does not require an account to use the free tools, and does not run analytics or advertising scripts that track individual visitors. If this changes — for example, if we add usage analytics, an advertising network, or account sign-in for a paid tier — this policy will be updated to name the specific service, what it collects, and how to opt out where applicable.
Our web server, like any web server, automatically logs basic technical information for security and reliability — such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps. These logs do not include the contents of any file and are retained only as long as needed for security monitoring.
Cookies
PDFTurner may use essential cookies or local storage to remember your language preference or plan status. It does not currently use tracking or advertising cookies. This section will be expanded if that changes.
Your rights, including under GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or another jurisdiction with similar protections, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export any personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because the free tools never receive your files or personal data, there is typically nothing to request in connection with them. For anything you do provide to us directly (for example, by emailing us), you can exercise these rights by contacting [email protected].
Children’s privacy
PDFTurner is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as PDFTurner adds new features. Material changes — particularly anything affecting how server-side tools handle your files — will be reflected here with an updated date at the top of this page.
